Mother’s Day weekend is usually when the docks go in at the club —
and even if the boat isn’t in just yet,
you can feel the season starting.
There’s an energy to it.
Anticipation.
Routine coming back.
We’re about a month away from getting back out on the water,
and this was a quick look back at one of those perfect days last summer.
Heading out the channel,
past Point Abino,
with Alex at the wheel —
one of those simple routines that never gets old.
Some days we head toward Port Colborne to see family,
other days we stay close to shore
between the bay and Crystal Beach.
Sometimes we anchor.
Sometimes we drift.
This particular day…
the lake was completely calm.
One of those rare afternoons
where everything just settles.
Boating life here is a balance —
quiet time on the dock
and days where you take full advantage of the water.
Both are part of it.
And both are something we look forward to every year.
