It always feels like summer officially begins with our first boat ride. 🚤☀️

This year, we were a little later than usual getting out on Lake Erie. Between the weather and life, it took us a little longer to launch, but it made that first trip even sweeter.

Our first stop was Sugarloaf Harbour to fuel up, then we cruised into Port Colborne for dinner—one of our favourite summer traditions.

We grabbed dinner at Canal Side, where the protein bowls were so good they inspired a whole week of recreating them at home. (I probably should have filmed that too! 😂)

While we were waiting for dinner, I noticed people constantly walking in and out of a little vintage candy shop a few doors down. @candy.safari Curiosity got the best of me, so I wandered over… and let’s just say I’ll definitely be back. Between the nostalgic candy and the ice cream, it was worth the stop.

As the evening came to an end, we made our way back to @bertieboatingclub with the sun setting over the lake.

There’s something about being on the water that slows life down.

It’s one of the many reasons I love calling Niagara home.
