One of the things that surprised me most about Nantucket was the food scene. 🍽️🌊

The food is incredible, but it’s really the whole experience around it that I loved.

We ate at some of the island favourites, including The Sister Ship and CRU, and had everything from beautiful patio dinners to drinks at the bar and late-night alfresco meals.

And Nantucket dresses for dinner.

People really make an evening of it. One night, we couldn’t get a reservation until 9:45 p.m.—and I thought, Who is eating dinner at 9:45?

Well… Nantucket is. 😂

The restaurants were packed. The patios were full. People were wandering the streets, shopping at dusk, stopping for drinks and enjoying the evening.

There was such an energy to it.

It reminded me that sometimes dinner doesn’t have to be something you squeeze into your day.

It can be the event.

Get dressed. Find a beautiful patio. Order something delicious. Have another glass of wine. Wander around afterwards.

Stay out a little later than you normally would.

That’s part of what made Nantucket feel so special to me.

I’ll share more of the food we enjoyed because there was simply too much to fit into one post!
