Sometimes you just get in the car and go.
We took a quick four-day trip a few weeks back—
starting in Pittsburgh for a season opener game at PNC Park.
First time there —
and it surprised us.
80 degrees when we arrived,
sunny, vibrant, and full of energy.
By the next morning?
Back to the 50s.
A completely different feel.
From there, we headed to Massanutten Resort
to meet Alex’s parents —
a place they’ve been going to for years.
And now we understand why.
Mountains, trails, golf,
and homes built right into the landscape.
We spent our days golfing (and hiking for lost balls),
watching deer move across the course,
and trying to take in as much as we could.
It was simple.
Active.
And exactly what we needed.
Just a few days away
and a reminder that you don’t need the perfect plan
