The peonies have just finished for the season 🌸

The peonies have just finished for the season 🌸

And honestly, they never stay long enough.

Every year I wait for them.

Every year I stop and admire them.

And every year it feels like their season is over in the blink of an eye.

As the peonies fade, the rest of the garden starts to take over.

This year, my planting is a little late.

In fact, I’m not even sure I’ll do as much as I normally do.

Life gets busy, and some years you have more time for the garden than others.

But that’s okay too.

Here is a little look at some of my pots early on as they begin to fill in for the season.

My herb pots are planted.

The new dogwood tree is settling into its new home after replacing something that didn’t make it through the winter.

And now comes the fun part…

Watching everything grow.

One of the things I love most about gardening is that it teaches patience.

You do the work.
You water.
You wait.

And eventually, the garden rewards you.

The older I get, the more I appreciate that process.

Are your gardens and flower pots planted yet, or are you still working on them like me?
