And for the last one, I wanted to bring a little bit of Nantucket home with me.

After spending five days on the island with Alex, I came home inspired by so much of what I experienced there—the food, the fresh ingredients, the beautiful summer atmosphere, and of course, the cocktails.

So for Part 5, I’m making a classic French 75, with a little twist because I happen to have an abundance of fresh basil right now.

Fresh basil, lemon, simple syrup, gin, and plenty of bubbles. It’s bright, fresh, fragrant, and feels like the perfect cocktail to end a 5-Star Weekend. Thanks to @elinhilderbrand!

The older I get, the more I realize my favourite moments of the day aren’t the busiest ones.

For me, it’s those quiet bookends.

The early mornings before the emails, phone calls, and meetings begin… and the summer evenings when everything settles down, the flowers get watered, and I have a chance to reflect on the day.

Years ago, I probably would have said I loved the hustle. I measured a good day by how much I accomplished. But somewhere along the way, I started valuing something different.

I’ve come to appreciate the moments where nothing is expected of me. The moments where I can simply think, breathe, and be present.

I’ve found that those quiet moments don’t take away from my productivity—they’re actually what make me better the rest of the day.

Sometimes the greatest gift isn’t finding more time… it’s protecting the quiet time you already have.

Summer has always been my favourite season.

Long evenings.

Backyard barbecues.
Bike rides.

And now… golf.

It’s funny how life has a way of introducing you to new things when you’re ready for them. Golf wasn’t always part of my summers, but over the last couple of years it’s become something I genuinely look forward to.

It’s not about the score.

It’s about being outside, sharing a few laughs, challenging myself, and spending time with great people.

Every round teaches me something—usually patience. 😊

I’m still learning, still losing a few golf balls along the way, and still smiling when I walk off the 18th green.

Adding golf to my summers has made my favourite season even sweeter.

Alex and I recently spent a few days exploring Nantucket, and there’s something about that island that makes you want to slow down, linger a little longer, and savour every moment. Meet the Raspberry Limoncello Spritz.

Made with fresh raspberry purée, Limoncello, sparkling wine, and a splash of soda, it’s light, refreshing, and as beautiful as it is delicious.

It’s the kind of cocktail I’d serve if I were hosting a girls’ weekend on the patio, by the lake, or even on a dock overlooking the water.

The Niagara real estate market continues to follow a typical summer pattern. While buyer activity remains steady, inventory is still giving purchasers plenty of choice as we move through August.

Across the Niagara Region, there are currently 2,979 active listings, with 245 new listings coming to market over the past seven days. During that same period, 106 homes sold, while 512 homes have sold over the past 30 days. The average time to sell remains 43 days.

In Fort Erie, the market remains active with 494 homes currently for sale. Over the last week, 52 new listings came to market and 17 homes sold. Over the past 30 days, 58 homes changed hands, with an average time on market of 37 days and an average sale price of $676,507.

Overall, the market continues to reflect normal seasonal trends. Buyers are taking advantage of increased inventory and have more time to compare properties before making a decision, while well-priced homes continue to attract interest.

As we move closer to Labour Day, the focus will be on whether buyer activity begins to increase and starts to absorb some of the available inventory, giving us a clearer picture of what to expect for the fall real estate market.
