🇮🇹🍝Do you ever forget how lucky we are living so close to Buffalo?
🇮🇹🍝Do you ever forget how lucky we are living so close to Buffalo?
From the time I was young, I always knew what a privilege it was to live in Fort Erie —
with easy access to Buffalo and beyond.
Sometimes it’s just as quick (and just as easy) to head over the bridge
as it is to drive to another Niagara city.
One spot Alex and I love returning to is @marcositalian.buffalo
It’s right on Niagara Street and always feels like a little escape —
classic Italian, warm atmosphere, and consistently good food.
We popped in recently and I forgot to take photos (it happens),
so these are a few favourites from past visits.
If you haven’t been yet, it’s well worth adding to your list
next time you’re looking for a change of pace.
Do you have a go-to spot across the border that never disappoints?
👇 I’d love to hear your @visitbuffalony favourites.

Niagara is frozen solid right now…
Niagara is frozen solid right now…
so today we’re drinking like it’s spring. 🌱🍸
This Cucumber Mint Gin Gimlet is fresh, bright, and exactly what I’ve been craving after all this snow.
Cool cucumber, fresh mint, lemon, a touch of simple syrup — and gin.
It’s light.
It’s crisp.
It tastes like warmer days are coming… even if they’re not quite here yet.
This recipe was sent to me by one of you (thank you 🤍), and it’s officially a winter favourite.
Cheers to fresh flavours, small rituals, and finding a little summer wherever we can.
🍸🌿
Recipe highlights:
• Fresh mint
• Fresh cucumber
• Lemon juice
• Simple syrup
• Gin (I used @hendricksgin )
Save this one for your next Thirsty Thursday.
Thanks for the inspiration @drinkswithdanica

Buyer Confidence Returns as Inventory Gaps Emerge
With interest rates stabilizing and prices down significantly from 2024, consumer confidence is starting to return and buyers are beginning to move forward in the marketplace. One challenge I am seeing is uneven inventory across price points. There is limited supply in the $650,000 to $725,000 range, as well as between $750,000 and $800,000. While there are properties available in these segments, many buyers feel the current inventory is not as strong as listings that previously sold in these price ranges. As a result, buyers are hoping to see additional inventory come to market in the near term.
Ever start with a spotless kitchen… and decide to mess it up on purpose? 🧈
Ever start with a spotless kitchen… and decide to mess it up on purpose? 🧈
That was me here — trying homemade butter for the very first time.
No recipe confidence.
No idea how messy it would get.
Just curiosity and a mixer.
Whipping cream turned into whipped cream…
then stayed there longer than expected.
I tasted it (obviously).
Walked away for a minute (mistake).
Came back to buttermilk trying to escape the bowl.
Live and learn.
Turn it down once you hit the whipped stage.
It wasn’t perfect —
I lost some buttermilk,
made a bit of a mess,
but ended up with fresh butter and a good lesson.
There’s something satisfying about trying something new in your own kitchen,
even when it doesn’t go exactly as planned.
Have you ever tried making something from scratch just to see if you could?
👇 I’d love to know.

📉 Why fewer buyers doesn’t mean less opportunity
📉 Why fewer buyers doesn’t mean less opportunity
Many sellers assume spring is better simply because there are more buyers.
What often gets missed is that spring also brings more listings.
More listings mean more comparisons.
More comparisons mean slower decisions.
And more negotiating power shifts to buyers.
When everything is competing at once, attention gets diluted.
I think about it the same way I think about listening to audiobooks or podcasts.
When there are too many voices, the message gets lost.
When it’s quieter, focus sharpens.
Winter creates that same environment in the market.
With fewer listings available, buyers spend more time on what’s in front of them.
Staying active now allows your home to be seen, considered, and remembered —
instead of competing for attention later in a crowded spring market.
📌 Fewer buyers doesn’t always mean less leverage.
Sometimes, it means more clarity.
