This week’s Thirsty Thursday is a little trip down memory lane 🥃🎉
This week’s Thirsty Thursday is a little trip down memory lane 🥃🎉
When I asked Alex what cocktail he wanted for his birthday, he didn’t hesitate.
A Sicilian Kiss.
And if you know, you know… 😉
This one is a throwback to our Keystone Kelly’s days. Back when we were practically kids, this was one of Alex’s favourite drinks. Some things change over the years, but apparently his love of a Sicilian Kiss is not one of them.
Simple ingredients:
🥃 1 oz Southern Comfort
🥃 1 oz Amaretto
🍒 Bourbon cherries for garnish
That’s it.
Sweet, smooth, and definitely on the potent side.
While I tend to lean toward lighter cocktails, Alex has always been a fan of the darker spirits — bourbon, whiskey, and drinks with a little more kick.
When I asked him why he likes this one so much, his answer made me laugh.
According to Alex, a Sicilian Kiss is appropriate before the event, during the event, and after the event 😆
For me, it feels more like something you sip slowly after dinner.
Either way, this cocktail brought back a lot of memories.
A little nostalgia.
A little birthday celebration.
And a reminder of just how many stories can be attached to a simple drink.
Happy Birthday, Alex ❤️
And here’s a toast to old friends, great memories, and the Keystone Kelly’s era.
Cheers, everybody.

Today I walked past the exact spot where I used to sit in my car, coffee in hand, wondering what my future would look like.
Today I walked past the exact spot where I used to sit in my car, coffee in hand, wondering what my future would look like.
Back in the early 2000s, I was running the Canadian Tire gas bar in the north end of Fort Erie.
I was pregnant with my second son, taking my real estate courses, helping build a future with my husband… and honestly, life felt really busy and uncertain at times.
Most mornings, before heading into work, I’d drop my oldest son off at my parents’ house while it was still dark out.
Then I’d grab a coffee and come sit by the water for ten quiet minutes before my shift.
And I used to dream.
I’d think about what life could maybe look like one day.
What kind of real estate business I hoped to build.
What kind of life I wanted for my family.
At the time, it all felt really far away.
But today, standing in that exact same place, it hit me…
so much of what I used to quietly imagine back then eventually became my reality.
Not overnight.
Not easily.
But slowly, through consistency, belief, and showing up over and over again.
Sometimes when you’re in the middle of the grind,
you don’t realize you’re actually building the life you once prayed for.
💬 Have you ever had one of those full circle moments where you realized how far you’ve actually come?

We’re officially back in the water ☀️⚓
We’re officially back in the water ☀️⚓
The outside of the boat is prepped and ready to go.
The inside?
Still needs a little help 😅
Rome wasn’t built in a day.
We stopped by the other night and it’s still early in the season. A lot of boats don’t come into their slips until later in June, so everything still felt quiet.
But honestly…
That might be my favourite part.
The calm before the season gets busy.
The stillness on the docks
the soft sounds of water moving
and those evenings where you can just sit and take it all in.
Soon enough there will be boats everywhere, friends gathering, and weekends filling up fast.
For now, I’m enjoying this part.
The beginning.
Are you an early-season person… or do you wait for summer to fully arrive?

❌ “The more homes I see… the easier the decision should become.”
❌ “The more homes I see… the easier the decision should become.”
And at first…
that sounds completely logical.
But when you’re still getting to know an area…
more options can sometimes create more uncertainty.
Because the real foundation—
understanding where you actually want to live—
is still forming.
There’s no real strategy in randomly looking at homes.
It reminds me a lot of working out.
If you walk into the gym every day…
doing the exact same workout…
with no adjustments or structure…
sure, you’re putting in effort.
But it becomes harder to see progress.
Harder to see results.
When there’s a strategy behind it…
one day focused on legs,
another on back and chest…
everything starts building on itself.
The routine becomes more intentional.
And the results usually come quicker and with more clarity.
Real estate works the same way.
If you’re constantly jumping between different neighbourhoods…
different price points…
different styles of homes…
without understanding where you actually want to be…
the process can start to feel overwhelming instead of productive.
✅ What tends to work better is refining the approach first.
Understanding the neighbourhoods.
The pace of the area.
The type of community.
What day-to-day life actually feels like there.
And then exploring homes within that framework.
Because once the foundation becomes clearer…
the right opportunities become easier to recognize.

The nice weather is finally here
The nice weather is finally here

And this week’s Thirsty Thursday is exactly the kind of drink you want after being outside all day.
Simple
cold
refreshing
and easy to make.
Today’s cocktail:
Limoncello
Beer (Corona or Peroni work great)
Fresh lime
That’s it.
No complicated ingredients
no fancy steps
Just something crisp and thirst-quenching for the first really warm weekend of the season.
Honestly… this one barely tastes boozy at all, which might make it a little dangerous
Perfect for:
sitting in the garden
the dock
barbecues
or just winding down outside after work
And yes… Blue was patiently waiting the entire time for his walk while I filmed this
Cheers everybody — here’s to sunshine finally arriving in Niagara

I took a break from doing open houses for a while.
I took a break from doing open houses for a while.
Honestly, they just weren’t very busy for a stretch there, and it started to feel like maybe they weren’t worth the effort.
But over the last couple of weekends, I started doing them again… and suddenly they were full of people. Busy from start to finish.
And this past weekend, something happened that reminded me why I love working in a smaller community like Fort Erie.
A woman came through the open house with her mom and casually mentioned the area where she lived. She didn’t give me an address — just a rough description of the neighborhood.
And somehow, I immediately knew the house she bought, who the previous owner was, and even who her neighbor was.
We both kind of stopped and laughed.
It created this instant sense of connection and comfort between us.
And it reminded me that real estate, especially in smaller towns, is so much more than just transactions.
It’s community.
It’s familiarity.
It’s understanding the people and the stories behind the homes.
That small-town pride hit me a little this weekend… and honestly, it felt really good.
💬 If you live in a smaller community, do you love that sense of familiarity too?

There are certain flowers that make me stop every single time
There are certain flowers that make me stop every single time
For me, it’s peonies.
Whenever I have a listing with peonies blooming in the garden, or mine start appearing at home, I always pause and take a picture.
I especially love them just before they open — when they’re still perfectly tucked into those little round blooms, waiting for their moment.
This time of year always gets me excited.
I start scrolling through old photos from my phone, remembering what bloomed where, and thinking ahead to what the garden will look like in a few short weeks.
Then come the nursery visits…
Looking at flower pots
finding new ideas
and convincing myself I can somehow make room for one more thing
This year, I’m hoping to find the perfect place for a dogwood tree.
Gardens are funny that way — they’re never really finished.
They just keep evolving.
If you love gardening, I’d love to hear — what’s your favourite bloom this time of year?

❌ “As long as someone can show me homes… that should be enough.”
❌ “As long as someone can show me homes… that should be enough.”
And when you’re moving into an unfamiliar area…
that feels like a reasonable place to start.
Because when you don’t know the market…
it’s hard to know what questions to even ask.
All agents have access to listings.
But when you’re relocating…
what often matters more is understanding the bigger picture around the home.
The feel of the neighbourhood
The type of community
Who typically lives there
What day-to-day life actually looks like
Because where you live quietly shapes your life over time.
Your routine
Your energy
Your pace of life
It reminds me a lot of working out.
I don’t work out because I’m trying to become a fitness model.
I do it because it supports everything else in my life.
My mindset.
My energy.
The ability to show up every day feeling strong and clear.
And the right neighbourhood works the same way.
✅ That’s why local knowledge matters.
Not just access to homes…
but understanding how an area actually supports the way you live.
That’s where confidence starts to build—
even before you arrive.
📲 If you’re planning a move into Fort Erie or Niagara, reach out and let’s talk about finding the right fit—not just the right house.
